Who This Is For

  • You are upgrading your water filtration because your current single-membrane system no longer hits your daily supply needs
  • You are moving to an automated production setup because you need to ensure consistent water quality without manual testing

What We Found

  • The 1:1 vessel configuration is smart because it keeps the footprint compact while pushing higher output volumes
  • We tell operators the Grundfos pump makes the biggest difference here, keeping pressure steady across both membranes

What Users Say

  • Facility managers who switched to this unit report that they stopped worrying about low tank levels during peak cycles
  • Operators who integrated the automated float switch say they saved hours of daily oversight on their water production

Axeon N-4000 Reverse Osmosis System | 220V 4,000 GPD

When a single-membrane system like the Axeon N-2000 can no longer keep pace with your facility's water demand, the Axeon N-4000 is the next step. Running a dual 4040 membrane array in a 1:1 vessel configuration, the N-4000 delivers 4,000 GPD (2.78 GPM) at a nominal 98.5% TDS rejection rate and 48% system recovery — pre-plumbed, pre-wired, and factory-tested on its powder-coated aluminum frame. Like every model in the AXEON N-Series, it arrives ready to connect with no field assembly required. To protect your equipment in harsh environments, you can also add an Axeon N-Series Protective Cover.

The AX-8000 Computer Controller handles the automation side — real-time TDS and temperature monitoring, pre-treatment lockout, automated feed flush, manual flush, low/high pressure alarms, and tank level input for hands-off production shutoff when paired with an Axeon Float Switch. The Grundfos 1.5 HP multi-stage stainless steel booster pump runs at 3,480 RPM to sustain consistent membrane pressure across both vessels, while Pentair Big Grey filter housings, AXEON FRP membrane housings, and Parker/Seatech quick-connect fittings complete a system built for continuous commercial operation.

⚠ Feed Water Note: The Axeon N-4000 requires dechlorinated feed water. Maximum free chlorine is 0 ppm. Municipal water users must include a carbon pre-treatment stage upstream of this system to protect the membranes.

Features

🖥️
AX-8000 Computer Controller

LCD backlit interface with real-time TDS and temperature monitoring, pre-treatment lockout, automated feed flush, manual flush, tank level input, and low/high pressure alarms.

💧
4,000 GPD / 48% System Recovery

Delivers 4,000 gallons per day at 2.78 GPM with 48% system recovery and 98.5% nominal TDS rejection — rated for feed water up to 2,000 ppm TDS.

🔬
Dual 4040 Membrane Array

Two AXEON XE1-Series 4" × 40" membrane elements in a 1:1 vessel configuration double the purification capacity of the N-2000 while maintaining the same compact frame footprint.

Pre-Plumbed, Wired & Assembled

Arrives fully integrated and individually tested — no field assembly required. Connect feed water, permeate, concentrate, and 220V power and the system is ready to run.

🔩
Grundfos Multi-Stage Booster Pump

A 1.5 HP stainless steel Grundfos multi-stage pump at 3,480 RPM maintains consistent pressure across both membrane vessels for sustained rated output under continuous commercial demand.

FAQs

How does the N-4000 differ from the N-2000?+

The N-4000 doubles the N-2000's output to 4,000 GPD using a dual 4040 membrane array in a 1:1 vessel configuration. It also delivers significantly better system efficiency — 48% recovery versus 32% on the N-2000 — meaning more of your feed water becomes purified permeate and less goes to drain. Both models share the same AX-8000 controller platform, frame footprint, and 220V 8.5A electrical requirements.

Does the N-4000 require dechlorinated feed water?+

Yes — like all thin-film composite RO membranes, the AXEON XE1-Series elements have a maximum free chlorine tolerance of 0 ppm. Chlorinated municipal tap water will degrade the membranes if fed directly into the system. A carbon block or catalytic carbon pre-filter stage must be installed upstream before the N-4000.

What does the AX-8000 Controller do?+

The AX-8000 is the N-4000's built-in automation hub. It monitors TDS and water temperature in real time on an LCD backlit display, manages pre-treatment lockout when feed conditions are out of spec, runs automated and manual flush cycles to maintain membrane health, and raises low/high pressure alarms. The tank level input function lets the system stop production automatically when a connected storage tank reaches capacity.

What are the installation requirements for the N-4000?+

The N-4000 ships pre-plumbed, pre-wired, and fully assembled. On-site connections are limited to feed water (1" FNPT), permeate out (½" QC), concentrate drain (½" QC), and a 220V single-phase supply at 8.5A. A licensed electrician should verify your panel can support the dedicated 220V circuit — no plumbing fabrication or component assembly is required.

How often do the membranes and pre-filter need to be replaced?+

The 5-micron SDF-Series sediment pre-filter should be inspected monthly and replaced every 3–6 months depending on source water quality. The two XE1-Series membrane elements typically last 2–3 years under normal commercial use. Monitor permeate TDS via the AX-8000 — a rising TDS reading is the clearest indicator that membrane replacement is due. For high-mineral water, using Axeon S–200 Membrane Antiscalant can help extend the life of your elements.

Is the N-4000 available in higher capacities?+

Yes — the AXEON N-Series continues with the N-6000, N-8000, N-12000, and N-16000 — all running on 220V with the same AX-8000 controller. Models from the N-6000 upward step up to an 11.0A draw and a larger 32 × 24 × 55 in frame, so factor in both electrical capacity and floor space when planning an upgrade.
