How to Flash the Pharmaceutical Firmware on a Home Freeze Dryer
- To upgrade the firmware, you must ensure that your freeze dryer’s firmware is at least version 3.6.11. Anything older than this won’t be compatible with this firmware and can potentially brick the system of your freeze dryer. You can find the firmware version in the upper right corner of the screen of your freeze dryer. Take note of the firmware version; you will need this when downloading the new firmware.
- Once you’ve determined the firmware version, you can then proceed to download the firmware on the
Harvest Right website. On the website, you will find four different versions of the firmware. You need to download the firmware based on the middle digit of your current version; otherwise, the software will not run. If the middle number is 0, download the new firmware with 0 in the middle digit.
- Once you’ve downloaded the firmware, store it in a flash drive. A lower-capacity USB drive works better; a 16 GB drive should suffice for this purpose.
- Before you update the firmware, ensure the home freeze dryer is off. Insert the flash drive into the USB port on the side of the screen, then turn on the freeze dryer. Once you turn it on, the home freeze dryer will automatically install the new firmware. You should see the new version number in the upper right corner of the screen.
