How to Make THC Vape Juice At Home

The process of finding the right THC vape juice can be a challenge. There are many different brands and flavors to choose from, but not all will provide the experience you're looking for. Some will be too strong or too weak; some will taste like candy or fruit, which might not appeal to some users; some will leave your mouth feeling dry after use, and others will leave your mouth feeling sticky and uncomfortable.

So if you're looking for the best THC vape juice, the ideal scenario would be to make it yourself.

What is THC Vape Juice?

THC vape juice is a type of cannabis extract that is used to make vapor. The THC vape juice that is available for purchase in the US is usually made from cannabis flowers, which are then extracted using CO2. This process produces a concentrated form of the plant's active ingredients—THC and CBD—that can be used in a variety of ways.

The most common way that people consume THC vape juice is by inhaling it as vapor, which can be done with either an e-cigarette or a vaporizer. Both devices use heat to convert the liquid into a gas, which you then inhale through your mouth and nose.

This method has become increasingly popular among people who use cannabis recreationally because it allows them to get high without smoking anything or causing any negative health effects associated with smoking.

Three Ways to Make THC Vape Juice

Long-term Steeping Method for Making THC Vape Juice

Long-term Steeping or Extraction

One of the easiest ways of making THC vape juice is through long-term steeping or extraction. While the process is easy, it takes around three months to create the juice.

Many believe that this process is almost hard not to get right, considering how effortless it is. It only requires the decarboxylation of your chosen strain and mixing it with your VG-PG solution.

If you wish to try this method, you will need the following:

To start, grind your buds until they reach a coarse texture. This step is vital as it ensures that you strain them properly.

Spread the roughly grounded buds on your baking sheet or oven-safe container, then cover them with foil. Decarboxylate the buds to activate the THC.

While you decarboxylate your buds, prepare your PG/VG solution. Pre-mixed solutions are available, but you can make them if they match your preferences.

Knowing how PG and VG affect your vape juice is essential. PG is a flavor enhancer, while VG makes the juice and vapors thicker. You'd want to have a good proportion of these two. It would be best if you tried mixing 40 percent PG and 60 percent VG.

When you're done decarboxylating, let the buds cool, then transfer them to your mason jar or any airtight container. After that, pour your solution into the container, just enough to cover the buds.

Stir the solution and put the container in a cool and dark place for steeping for the next three months. Stir the solution every two weeks to ensure an even distribution of buds and the solution. If the buds are exposed above the solution, add more PG/VG solution.

After three months, give your solution one more stir, then prepare to strain it.

To prepare your juice for straining, grab your rice press and place it on top of a glass jar lined with cheesecloth. Pour the mixture into the rice press, then cover it with the cheesecloth.

With the cheesecloth as a filter, squeeze the juice into the container. Once you've finished squeezing out the juice, you can load your syringe with it and vape it.

Fast-track Infusion

This method of making THC vape juice does not differ much from the steeping method but removes the long waiting time.

You will need the above items for this procedure, plus:

Follow the steps above until submerging the buds with the PG/VG solution. Once you've immersed the ground buds in the PG/VG solution, add water to both chambers of the double boiler, then heat it until you reach a temperature of 220 degrees Fahrenheit.

Once you hit 220 degrees, put your PG/VG bud solution into the double boiler and let it heat to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep it at that level for about an hour. You can extend the time if you want a more potent vape juice. Add PG/VG mixture as needed.

Once you're done heating the mixture, let it cool, then strain it, as you would in the steeping method. You can then vape this juice.

Rosin Extracted THC Vape Juice

Rosin Extracted THC Vape Juice

This is probably one of the simplest ways of making vape juice with THC, although it does require using a rosin press or buying rosin beforehand. The nice thing about using a rosin press is that it heats your material as it extracts, removing the need for decarboxylation before extracting. You can also vape any rosin you'll make now & in the future using an e-nail once you have a rosin press.

For this method, you need the following:

Follow the extraction process on your rosin press if you don't have rosin. If you already have rosin, mix one-part rosin with two parts wax liquidizer on your pyrex glass. Heat the rosin with a wax liquidizer using a lighter or a boiling water bath, then mix when it's hot enough.

The magic ratio for liquidizer/terpenes to rosin is 2:1

Once you've mixed the two, your e-liquid is ready to be vaped. Using the syringe, transfer the mixture into a bottle or vape cartridge.

Conclusion

You might not get it right the first time, but it takes practice to help you get the right mixture. That said, consider this article as your guide as you experiment with different flavor profiles of your buds and how they work as vape juice. You might not get it right on the first try, but with practice, you'll be able to concoct your methods.
