THROUGH THE Cultivator's LENS Hands-On Evaluation

  • You are scaling up your lighting zone because managing dozens of individual power cables has become a mess to troubleshoot.
  • You are building out a commercial facility because you need a signal trunk line that resists interference in a noisy room.

  • The 18AWG copper wiring handles long runs without the signal drop you get from thinner, cheaper alternatives.
  • We favor the push-lock ends here because they stay snapped in place when things get humid or dusty in the garden.

  • Users who swapped to this trunk line report that their fixtures finally respond in unison without random dimming errors.
  • Facilities managers say the IP-rated connections survived a full season of heavy cleaning without corroding.

Photobio PHOTO-LOC 0-10V TM Adapter Cable | 20′ RJ11-2P

Connecting PHOTOBIO MX, MX2, TX, TX2, and T fixtures to centralized controllers with RJ11 or RJ12 ports requires a dedicated trunk line built for signal integrity — not a generic cable. The PHOTO-LOC 0-10V TM Adapter Cable is a 20-foot plug-and-play trunk line engineered specifically for the PHOTOBIO DC Communication Tree system, delivering clean 0-10V DC signals across your entire lighting zone with locking IP-rated connections. For large-scale facility management, this system integrates perfectly with the Photobio AC Power Distribution Tree to maintain performance in the humidity and dust of commercial indoor farms.

The 20′ cable runs 18AWG braided flexible copper wiring with built-in EMC suppression technology to eliminate electromagnetic interference that can destabilize dimming signals across large fixture counts. The RJ11 end connects to your centralized controller while the 2P push-lock end interfaces with PHOTO-LOC T Cables — allowing the trunk-and-branch architecture to scale to your layout. When paired with the PHOTO-LOC Signal Repeater, a single lighting zone can drive significantly more fixtures without signal degradation. To ensure your light levels are dialed in after installation, we recommend using the Photobio Advanced Quantum PAR Meter to verify intensity. The system is also compatible with TrolMaster Hydro-X using Lighting Control Adapter F (LMA-14).

Features

🔌
Plug & Play Trunk Line

20-foot trunk cable provides fast, secure locking connections from centralized controller to PHOTOBIO MX2 and TX2 fixtures without additional wiring work.

📡
EMC Suppression Technology

Built-in electromagnetic interference suppression protects 0-10V signal integrity across long runs and large fixture counts in electrically noisy grow environments.

🛡️
IP-Rated Locking Connections

PHOTO-LOC locking connectors are IP-rated for dust and water protection, built to perform reliably in rigorous indoor farm and greenhouse conditions.

🔧
RJ11 & 2P Push-Lock Ends

RJ11 connector interfaces with centralized controllers using RJ11 or RJ12 ports; 2P push-lock end connects to PHOTO-LOC T Cables for branch distribution.

☀️
UV-Resistant 18AWG Cable

Braided flexible copper wiring with UV-resistant jacket withstands prolonged exposure to high-intensity grow lighting without degradation.

📈

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fixtures is this adapter cable compatible with? +

The PHOTO-LOC 0-10V TM Adapter Cable is designed for use with PHOTOBIO MX, MX2, TX, TX2, and T LED fixtures. It is not a universal dimming cable and should only be used within the PHOTOBIO DC Communication Tree system.

Can I use this cable with my TrolMaster controller? +

Yes — the adapter cable is compatible with TrolMaster Hydro-X branded systems using the Lighting Control Adapter F (LMA-14). Hydrofarm recommends confirming the application directly with TrolMaster prior to installation to ensure compatibility with your specific setup.

How does this trunk cable connect to my fixtures? +

This cable is a trunk line — it runs from your centralized controller to the PHOTO-LOC Trunk with Branch T Cable (PTBCC8850W), which then distributes the signal to individual fixtures. It does not connect directly to fixtures on its own.

How many fixtures can I control on one zone with this cable? +

The base zone capacity depends on your controller and system layout. When paired with the PHOTO-LOC Signal Repeater, the total number of fixtures controllable on a single lighting zone can be increased significantly beyond the default limit.

What does the EMC suppression technology do? +

EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) suppression reduces interference from nearby electrical equipment — including the LED drivers themselves — that can corrupt low-voltage 0-10V dimming signals. This helps maintain consistent, stable light output across all fixtures on the zone.

Is this cable suitable for humid greenhouse environments? +

Yes. The PHOTO-LOC locking connectors are IP-rated for dust and water protection, and the cable jacket is UV-resistant. The system is specifically designed to perform in the rigorous conditions of commercial indoor farms and greenhouses.
