THROUGH THE Cultivator's LENS Hands-On Evaluation

  • You are using a two-part feeding schedule because you need granular control over your nutrient ratios during bloom.
  • You are switching to this base formula because you want to tighten up plant structure and minimize unnecessary stretching.

  • We favor the dipotassium phosphate source here because it avoids the harsh chloride buildup of cheaper base formulas.
  • The 0-4-4 ratio acts as a surgical tool for mid-to-late stage development when you need to drive flower density.

  • Users who swapped to this two-part system say their plants showed significantly tighter internodal spacing.
  • Operators report that the formula mixes clean into their reservoirs without leaving behind heavy sediment buildup.

Drip Hydro Base B | 0-4-4

A two-part base system only works if both halves are engineered to complement each other, and Drip Hydro Base B 0-4-4 is built as the phosphorus-and-potassium counterpart to Drip Hydro Base A. As part two of the simple, highly-concentrated two-part base formula, Base B is designed for use throughout both the vegetative and flowering stages of any fruit or flower-producing plant, and is available in Quart, Gallon, and 5 Gallon sizes.

Base B is formulated with a 0-4-4 N-P-K. The higher phosphorus concentration plays a key role in root growth, flower site development, and blooming—a process that can be further enhanced by incorporating Drip Hydro Flex PK Booster during the late flowering phase. The matching potassium concentration supports overall plant health and vigor, strengthening disease resistance and assisting the movement of nutrients. To ensure a complete micronutrient profile, Base B also delivers boron, iron, manganese, and zinc, though growers may also add Drip Hydro Cal Mag if their water source requires additional minerals.

The phosphorus and potassium in Base B come from monopotassium phosphate and dipotassium phosphate — the latter a more expensive, harder-to-source compound. Using both allows Base B to deliver equivalent amounts of phosphorus and potassium without relying on potassium chloride. This balanced ratio helps produce less stretching and tighter internodal spacing. To maintain system health while using these mineral salts, we recommend Drip Hydro Shock to keep lines free of scale and buildup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Drip Hydro Base B used for? +

Base B is part two of a two-part base nutrient system designed for use throughout both the vegetative and flowering stages of any fruit or flower-producing plant. It supplies a 0-4-4 N-P-K along with boron, iron, manganese, and zinc.

How much Base B should I mix per gallon? +

Dilute 9-15 mL (0.3-0.5 fl. oz) per 4 L (1 gallon) of water throughout the life cycle of any fruit or flower producing plant.

Do I need Base A along with Base B? +

Yes, Base A and Base B are designed to work together as a simple, highly-concentrated two-part base formula, together supplying the macro and micronutrients your plants need across their entire life cycle.

Why does Base B use both monopotassium and dipotassium phosphate? +

Using both sources allows Base B to deliver equivalent amounts of phosphorus and potassium without supplementing with potassium chloride, a more common but less effective source used elsewhere in the industry.

Will Base B help with plant stretch? +

Yes, the equal phosphorus-to-potassium ratio in Base B helps produce less stretching and tighter internodal spacing.

What sizes does Base B come in? +

Base B is available in Quart, Gallon, and 5 Gallon sizes to fit growers running anything from a small tent to a full commercial room.
