Drip Hydro Base A 5-0-2

Building a plant's full life cycle nutrition around scattered single-purpose products makes it easy to under- or over-feed key elements at the wrong stage. Drip Hydro Base A 5-0-2 removes that guesswork as part one of a simple, highly-concentrated two-part base formula, designed to be used in conjunction with Drip Hydro Base B throughout both the vegetative and flowering stages of any fruit or flower-producing plant. For cultivators operating at a larger scale who prefer dry nutrients, Drip Hydro Powder A provides a comparable high-performance nutritional profile in a soluble format.

Base A is formulated with a 5-0-2 N-P-K, where the higher nitrogen concentration plays a key role in coloring and chlorophyll production, driving strong leaf development, while the stronger potassium concentration supports overall plant health and vigor — strengthening disease resistance, assisting water and nutrient movement, and helping the plant perform its other biological functions optimally. Base A also delivers magnesium, copper, iron, manganese, and zinc, formulated with a strong focus on bio-availability so plants receive the proper macro and micronutrients they need across their entire life cycle.

The iron in Base A comes from two superior chelates — Iron EDDHA, an environmentally friendly form of iron, and Iron DTPA — both of which perform across a wider pH range and stay in chelated form in the watering solution. Drip Hydro chose these over Iron EDTA after finding fewer particulates and less pH swing with EDDHA and DTPA. Dilute 9-15 mL (0.3-0.5 fl. oz) per 4 L (1 gallon) of water throughout the life cycle of any fruit or flower producing plant to help maximize your plants' genetic potential. To maintain the ideal environment for nutrient uptake, we recommend using Drip Hydro pH Down or Drip Hydro pH Up to stabilize your reservoir levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Drip Hydro Base A used for?+

Base A is part one of a two-part base nutrient system designed for use throughout both the vegetative and flowering stages. It supplies essential N-P-K and micronutrients; for growers looking to further enhance terpene profiles, it pairs perfectly with Drip Hydro Ooze during the bloom phase.

How much Base A should I mix per gallon?+

Dilute 9-15 mL (0.3-0.5 fl. oz) per 4 L (1 gallon) of water throughout the life cycle of any fruit or flower producing plant.

Do I need Base B along with Base A?+

Yes, Base A and Drip Hydro Base B are designed to work together as a simple, highly-concentrated two-part base formula, together supplying the macro and micronutrients your plants need across their entire life cycle.

Why does Base A use Iron EDDHA and Iron DTPA instead of Iron EDTA?+

Iron EDDHA and Iron DTPA remain chelated across a wider range of pH levels than Iron EDTA, and Drip Hydro found fewer particulates and less pH fluctuation using these two sources.

What sizes does Base A come in?+

Base A is available in Quart, Gallon, and 5 Gallon sizes to fit growers running anything from a small tent to a full commercial room.

What does the potassium in Base A do for my plants?+

Potassium helps strengthen a plant's resistance to disease and assists in moving water and nutrients through the plant. To ensure those nutrients flow freely through your irrigation lines, we recommend using Drip Hydro Flow to prevent mineral buildup.
