Who This Is For

  • You are adding a second circuit because your 120V circuit reached its 10-fixture limit for under-canopy lights.
  • You are upgrading to 277V because you need the secure connection of a NEMA L7 twist-lock for your facility.

What We Found

  • The integrated dimming wire is a win because it keeps your bench wiring much cleaner and easier to manage.
  • The twist-lock on the 277V version is much better for high-traffic rooms where cords often get kicked or snagged.

What Users Say

  • Users who swapped out their old cables say the cord length is ideal for reaching outlets without messy slack.
  • People who had to split their benches into multiple chains say these cords made their circuit management much cleaner.

Faven Power Cords For Under Canopy Lights R6 + R8

Direct power connection without adapter complications—the Faven Power Cord provides voltage-specific electrical interface for R6 and R8 under canopy LED systems. Each 10-foot cord delivers proper power distribution to your first fixture in a daisy-chain configuration, establishing the foundation for multi-fixture installations across benches and cultivation zones. The included accessory dimming wire integrates with Faven's Mini Controller, enabling manual intensity adjustment across your entire daisy-chained lighting system.

Available in three voltage configurations (120V, 240V, and 277V) to match your facility's electrical infrastructure. The 277V option features a NEMA L7 twist-lock connector for secure, code-compliant connections in commercial environments where 277V lighting circuits are standard. Each cord includes the communication interface required for daisy-chaining fixtures and connecting optional dimming controls, eliminating the need for additional wiring during installation.

Remember: each daisy-chain requires one power cord at the beginning of the chain. If you exceed the maximum fixture count for your voltage (10 lights @ 120V, 17 lights @ 240V, or 20 lights @ 277V), you'll need multiple power cords to split your installation into separate daisy-chains on different circuits. Compatible exclusively with Faven R6, R8, and R8 FR under canopy fixtures—not compatible with Faven Chroma series.

FAQ

Which voltage power cord should I order? +

Match the power cord voltage to your facility's electrical system. Most residential and small commercial operations use 120V. Many commercial facilities use 240V. Large commercial operations often have 277V lighting circuits. If you're planning a new setup, our LED grow light buying guide offers helpful insights. Check your outlet configuration or consult your electrician if you're unsure which voltage your facility uses.

How many power cords do I need for my installation? +

You need one power cord for each daisy-chain. If your total fixture count is within the maximum for your voltage (10 @ 120V, 17 @ 240V, or 20 @ 277V), you need one power cord. If you exceed these limits, split your installation into multiple daisy-chains, each requiring its own power cord on a separate circuit.

What is the accessory dimming wire used for? +

The accessory dimming wire connects to the Faven Mini Controller, allowing you to manually adjust light intensity across all fixtures in your daisy-chain. If you're not using a Mini Controller for dimming, this wire simply remains disconnected—your lights will operate at full power without it.

Can I use this power cord with Faven Chroma fixtures? +

No, this power cord is only compatible with Faven R6, R8, and R8 FR under canopy fixtures. The Faven Chroma series requires different power cords. Make sure you're ordering the correct power cord for your specific Faven Lighting fixture model.

What's the difference between a power cord and a jumper cable? +

The power cord plugs into your electrical outlet and provides power to the first fixture in your daisy-chain. Jumper cables connect fixtures to each other within the daisy-chain but don't plug into outlets. You need at least one power cord per daisy-chain, plus jumper cables to bridge gaps between fixtures that don't directly connect.

Is the 10-foot length long enough for my setup? +

The 10-foot length provides adequate reach for most installations from outlet to first fixture. If you need additional distance, position your outlet closer to the installation point or use the power cord to reach the first fixture, then use jumper cables (available in 3', 9', and 20' lengths) to extend your daisy-chain to more distant fixtures.

What is a NEMA L7 connector and why does 277V use it? +

The NEMA L7 is a twist-lock connector that physically locks into the outlet, preventing accidental disconnection. It's standard for 277V commercial lighting applications because these higher-voltage circuits require more secure connections for safety and code compliance. The twist-lock mechanism ensures your lights stay connected even with facility vibration or accidental contact.

Can I connect fixtures directly to each other without this power cord? +

No, every daisy-chain requires at least one power cord to provide electrical power from an outlet. Fixtures can connect to each other via built-in ports or jumper cables, but the chain won't function without a power cord providing the initial electrical connection to your facility's power.
