Slide the end of the ducting over the 6" flange of your fan or an Active Air inline carbon filter, then secure it with one of the included EZ Turn clamps — tighten by rotating the clamp head until snug and airtight. Repeat at the other connection point with the second included clamp. For the tightest seal, wrap the connection with duct tape over the clamp before final tightening, particularly on the carbon filter connection where air leaks would allow unfiltered odor to escape.

Yes — flex ducting can be trimmed to any length using tin snips or heavy scissors. Cut between helix wire coils rather than through them for the cleanest edge, and fold the cut aluminum edge back slightly to avoid sharp exposed material at the connection point. Any unused length can be stored for future use — coil it loosely and secure with the original packaging or a velcro tie to prevent kinking.

Every bend in a flex duct run adds resistance and reduces effective CFM delivery — the tighter the bend, the more resistance it creates. Keep runs as straight and short as possible, and use gradual curves rather than sharp 90° bends wherever the layout allows. Avoid compressing or bunching the ducting, which collapses the helix wire structure and dramatically restricts airflow. If a 90° turn is unavoidable, use a rigid elbow fitting rather than bending the flex duct tightly at that point.
