FAQs
What size fabric pots are compatible with these bases?
These self-watering bases are designed to fit most round fabric pots up to 5 gallons in capacity. For larger containers, consider the AC Infinity Self-Watering XL Base.
How long does the water in the reservoir last?
The 1-gallon reservoir can typically supply water for several days to over a week, depending on your plant's size, stage of growth, and the ambient environment. The water level gauge makes it easy to know when to refill.
Can I use nutrient solutions in the reservoir?
Yes, you can add liquid nutrients to the water in the reservoir. The wicking system will deliver the nutrient solution directly to the roots. We recommend cleaning the reservoir between cycles to prevent salt buildup.
How does the wicking system work?
The system uses adjustable wick lines that draw water up from the reservoir into the soil via capillary action. This ensures the soil remains consistently moist without being waterlogged, promoting healthy root development.
Are these bases suitable for outdoor use?
Absolutely. The bases are made from durable plastic and are suitable for use in various environments, including outdoor gardens, greenhouses, and indoor grow tents.
What is the main benefit of the elevated reservoir plate?
The elevated plate lifts your fabric pot above the standing water in the reservoir. This separation is crucial for preventing root rot and discouraging the growth of algae or mold, ensuring a healthier growing medium.
How can I integrate these bases into a full AC Infinity setup?
These bases are a perfect component for a fully automated grow room. They work seamlessly inside AC Infinity grow tents, creating an ideal environment when paired with their fans, lights, and controllers. For a deep dive on setting up, check out this in-depth guide.

This is my first time using self watering pots. I was skeptical at first, but it has made my watering schedule so much easier. I have two plants in vegetative stage and they are big and healthy!
