What devices can the GrowHub AI Controller X42 connect to and control? +

The X42 is designed to connect and manage grow lights, fans, inline fans and ventilation equipment, and environmental devices such as humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and heaters. It unifies these into one automated ecosystem rather than requiring separate controllers for each device type.

Note that Bluetooth connection to supported grow lights and fans requires a compatible Vivosun GrowHub E25 Smart Grow Tent Controller (sold separately).

What is the difference between Eco Mode, Standard Mode, and Performance Mode? +

The three AI strategies are tuned for different growing priorities. Eco Mode balances temperature and humidity while reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs. Standard Mode maintains precise climate targets with maximum consistency for reliable harvest quality. Performance Mode delivers the fastest climate response for maximum target stability and peak harvest results.

You can switch between strategies at any point in the grow cycle depending on your current goals.

How does the X42 manage VPD, and why does it matter? +

The X42 continuously monitors vapor pressure deficit and automatically adjusts connected climate devices to keep plants within the optimal VPD range for their current growth stage. Maintaining proper VPD directly supports nutrient uptake, root development, and vigorous vegetative and flowering growth.

Rather than requiring you to manually calculate and adjust temperature and humidity in relation to each other, the controller handles VPD management automatically based on real-time sensor data.

Does the X42 require an internet connection to operate? +

No. The GrowHub AI Controller X42 includes built-in offline operation, meaning the AI automation and device control continue to function even without an active internet connection. Power-outage safeguards also help protect your grow environment around the clock.

An internet connection and the VIVOSUN app are needed for remote monitoring and control from a mobile device, but local operation does not depend on connectivity.

What sensors does the X42 support, and are they included? +

The X42 supports two sensor types: a standard Temperature & Humidity Probe and a 4-in-1 Probe. Both sensors are sold separately and are not included with the controller. The included sensor probe cable measures 9.84 ft (3 m) in length.

For full AI environmental control including CO₂ and VPD management, a compatible 4-in-1 probe is recommended.

How does the wireless BLE Mesh connection work, and what does it replace? +

The X42 uses BLE Mesh networking to connect compatible devices wirelessly, eliminating the need for multiple control cables running between devices and the controller. This keeps your grow tent interior cleaner and simplifies the overall installation.

BLE Mesh provides stable device communication within the tent. For connecting to supported grow lights and fans via Bluetooth, a Vivosun GrowHub E25 Smart Grow Tent Controller is required in addition to the X42.
