The GrowHub E25 functions perfectly as a standalone controller for your SGS devices. You don't need an E42 or E42A to use it. However, if you already own an E42 or E42A controller, the E25 can serve as an expansion port, allowing you to control additional devices and either schedule them independently or share the same automated schedule across your entire system.
Setup is incredibly simple and takes just minutes. Plug the E25 into your SGS device's Type-C port, press the single WiFi configuration button, and connect it to your network through the Vivosun App. The clear status indicator light confirms when you're connected. For controlling different types of devices (lights, fans, etc.), you can add multiple E25 controllers to the same garden in the Vivosun App and manage them all from one interface.
Grow recipes are professionally designed automation programs optimized for specific growth stages and plant types. These recipes automatically adjust your lighting intensity, spectrum, duration, and fan operation based on whether your plants are in seedling, vegetative, or flowering stages. Simply select a recipe in the app, and the E25 will execute the precise schedule to maximize growth and yields without requiring you to manually adjust settings throughout the grow cycle.
When adding an E25 to an existing GrowHub E42 or E42A setup, you can add both controllers to the same garden within the Vivosun App. This allows you to either create independent schedules for devices controlled by the E25, or sync the E25 to follow the same automated schedule as your E42/E42A. This flexibility is particularly useful for controlling additional zones, supplemental lighting, or extra ventilation fans beyond the capacity of your primary controller.
WiFi is required for the E25's functionality since it relies on app-based control and doesn't have a physical display or manual controls like the E42/E42A. Once connected to WiFi and configured through the Vivosun App, you'll have full remote control over your connected devices. If WiFi drops temporarily, your devices will continue operating on their last programmed schedule until connectivity is restored.
