The FR-1 is the 4-foot, two-channel far red bar in the ThinkGrow Model One modular system. It runs 90 watts on Samsung white-based diodes across two channels, full spectrum plus a dedicated far red channel, so you can weight a flowering canopy without swapping fixtures. The Model One System

Model One is a modular platform, not a sealed fixture. You build a room from four parts and reconfigure it as the crop changes. Here is how the pieces fit, and where the FR-1 sits.

  • Main power cord: one feeds a whole group, up to 11 drivers on 120V or 22 on 240V.

The ICL-300 is a separate inner-canopy bar with its own built-in 120W driver. It lies flat within the canopy on the TSD-1 stand to light lower bud sites, and you add it to any setup when overhead light alone cannot reach dense or trellised plants.

How to Add the FR-1 to Your Setup

The FR-1 is a spectrum-shaping bar, not a standalone room light. It runs two channels, full spectrum plus a dedicated far red channel, so you mix it into a Model One driver group alongside your full-spectrum TLB bars rather than lighting a room on it alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a driver, and is one included?

Every Model One bar runs on its own driver. Add a TLD-2 driver and a power cord right on this page, or select No driver if you are slotting the FR-1 into a driver group you already run. The FR-1 does not power on without a driver.

How do I connect more than one bar?

Each bar plugs into its own driver, then the drivers daisy-chain to each other with TDC-2, TDC-3, or TDC-4 cords. One main power cord feeds the whole group, up to 11 drivers on a 120V circuit or 22 on 240V.

What does the far red channel do?

The far-red channel adds 730nm light that drives the shade-avoidance response and faster canopy development, and supports end-of-day far-red treatments that can shorten the dark-period transition. Run the FR-1 alongside full-spectrum TLB bars rather than on its own.

Do I need a TrolMaster controller?
