LTL Controls CO2 Generator 10-Burner Propane (Low Altitude)

The primary difference is CO2 output capacity and recommended coverage area. The 8-burner propane model covers 600–800 square feet, while this 10-burner unit scales up to 1,100–1,300 square feet — making it the right choice for larger commercial grow rooms with higher canopy volumes. Both models share the same kit contents, altitude rating, and fuel type.

This low altitude model is designed for installations at elevations between 0 and 3,500 feet — which covers most growers in coastal, valley, and mid-elevation regions. If your facility is located above 3,500 feet, you'll need the high altitude version, which is calibrated for lower ambient air pressure to ensure complete combustion and proper CO2 output. Using the wrong altitude version will result in inefficient burner performance and inaccurate CO2 enrichment.

For grow rooms in the 1,100–1,300 square foot range, most operators connect to 100 lb or larger propane tanks to reduce swap frequency during long production cycles. Standard 20–40 lb tanks will work but will require more frequent exchanges depending on how many hours per day the generator runs. The included gas regulator is compatible with standard propane fittings — verify connection compatibility with your specific tank setup before first use.

A CO2 controller or timer is strongly recommended, though not included in the kit. Without automated control, the generator runs continuously and can push CO2 concentrations well beyond the optimal 1,200–1,500 ppm range, wasting fuel and potentially stressing plants. A controller with a CO2 sensor automates on/off cycling to maintain your target concentration accurately — especially important at this output level covering over 1,000 square feet.

Mount the generator above the plant canopy near the center of the grow room using the included hanging chains and ceiling hooks, allowing CO2 — which is heavier than air — to settle down evenly through the canopy. In rooms approaching 1,300 square feet, consider supplementing with circulation fans to distribute CO2 uniformly across the full footprint. Ensure adequate clearance from flammable materials and never run the generator when the room is occupied without active CO2 monitoring in place.

Always monitor CO2 levels with a dedicated controller or monitor — concentrations above 5,000 ppm are hazardous to humans and the generator should never run unmonitored in an occupied or sealed space. Always shut the generator off before entering the grow room if CO2 buildup is a concern. Store propane tanks in accordance with local fire code, keep the unit away from flammable materials, and follow all installation and safety instructions included with the kit.
