Yes — ducting is required for correct operation. Ideal-Air recommends 4" PVC or 4" DWV plastic pipe. Running the unit without ducting will cause water to accumulate on top of the unit and trigger an automatic shutoff.

Fill only through the provided hose and float valve — never through the discharge piping outlets. Filling through the outlets will overfill the tank and prevent the unit from producing humidity. The float valve automatically maintains the correct water level during operation.

The 600 Pint model doubles the humidification output of the Ideal-Air Pro Series 300 Pint Ultrasonic Humidifier, producing up to 600 pints of ultra-fine mist per day at 10.3 amps versus 7.8 amps. All other features — ultrasonic transducers, stainless steel construction, 30%–90% RH control, overflow safety switch, and sediment filter — are shared across both models.

Ultrasonic transducers produce ultra-fine water particles that remain suspended in the air longer and travel farther than evaporative mist, creating a more even humidity field across your entire canopy. This reduces humidity hot spots and ensures consistent RH from top to bottom of your grow space.

The onboard LED control panel allows you to set your target relative humidity anywhere between 30% and 90% RH. This wide range covers every stage of plant growth from propagation through late flower.

The standard water inlet includes a built-in overflow safety switch that automatically shuts the unit down if water levels exceed safe operating limits, protecting both the unit and your grow space from water damage.

The integrated sediment filter should be inspected and cleaned regularly to prevent mineral buildup from reducing transducer performance. The reservoir drain outlet allows you to fully empty and flush the tank during cleanouts. Refer to the User Guide for a full maintenance schedule.
