The 6-inch net is the better choice during active training when you're regularly reaching into the canopy to tuck and reposition branches — the wider squares reduce resistance and make the process faster across a 5x5 footprint. Once the canopy is established and support becomes the priority, the 4-inch net holds everything in place with a tighter grid. Stacking both at different heights combines both benefits in a single two-tier SCROG setup.

Deploying both nets at different canopy heights creates a two-layer SCROG setup — the lower net guides early lateral growth and the upper net supports the canopy as it fills in and stacks through late vegetation and into flower. This is particularly effective in a 5x5 where multiple plants are filling in from different positions across the footprint.

Attach the included plastic corner hooks to each corner of the netting, then stretch and hook them onto your tent poles at the desired canopy height. As plants grow up through the squares, gently guide branches and stems through to spread the canopy laterally and maximize light exposure across the entire tent footprint.

Most growers run between two and six plants in a 5x5 tent using grow pots, depending on their training style. Two to four larger plants trained to fill the full net is common for SCROG, while higher plant counts of four to six work well for sea of green (SOG) setups.
