Who This Is For

  • You are switching to automated top-feeding because your hand-watering routine leaves some pots dry while others drown.
  • You are upgrading to a recirculating setup because salt buildup in your medium is causing frequent nutrient lockout.

What We Found

  • The silver piping really helps in warm rooms where black tubing would usually cook your nutrient solution.
  • The RAIN brain controller is surprisingly easy to program even if you usually struggle with digital cycle timers.

What Users Say

  • Growers who automated their feed cycles say they finally stopped seeing the nutrient burn caused by manual dosing.
  • Customers who switched to rain lids say they no longer have to scrape algae off the surface of their media.

Alien Hydroponics RAIN System - 14 Pot 2 Row Kit

Tired of inconsistent watering and nutrient delivery holding your plants back? The Alien Hydroponics RAIN System eliminates the guesswork, providing a reliable, automated top-feed solution that mimics natural rainfall for healthier plants and bigger yields. This 14-pot, 2-row kit is perfect for seasoned growers who need a dependable, mid-sized system that supports vigorous growth through every cycle.

By showering your chosen growing medium from above, the RAIN system ensures optimal nutrient absorption, boosts oxygenation, and actively flushes away salt buildup, preventing common issues like nutrient lockout and root rot. It's one of the most adaptable Alien Hydroponics systems available, allowing you to use various substrates with confidence. This system can be customized or expanded with other kits, like the 18 Pot 2 Row Kit, as your garden grows. With a simple, no-glue assembly, you can set up and maintain your garden effortlessly, regardless of your experience level.

Please note: This kit requires a nutrient reservoir, which is not included. We highly recommend pairing it with a compatible tank like the Alien GardenTank 30 Gallon reservoir to complete your setup.

FAQs

What growing medium can I use with the RAIN system?+

The RAIN system is highly versatile and can be used with a variety of growing mediums, including soil, coco coir, clay pebbles, or rockwool. Its top-feed design ensures even distribution regardless of the substrate.

How often should I schedule feedings?+

Alien Hydroponics recommends a starting watering frequency of one minute every hour. However, this can be adjusted based on your plant's specific needs, growth stage, and the type of medium you are using.

What size reservoir tank do I need?+

For a 14-pot system, a minimum reservoir capacity of 70 gallons (280 liters) is recommended to ensure you have enough nutrient solution and to maintain stability in pH and EC levels. The tank is sold separately.

Is this system difficult to assemble?+

No, the system is designed for easy, glue-free assembly. It uses threaded fittings and snap-on pipes, making setup straightforward. A 50mm wrench and pipe cutter are included to assist with the process.

What's the difference between the RAIN system and an RDWC system?+

The main difference is the feeding method. The RAIN system is a top-feed drip system that mimics rainfall. In contrast, an RDWC (Recirculating Deep Water Culture) system submerges the roots directly in a highly-oxygenated nutrient solution. RDWC is a pure hydroponic method often used with minimal media like clay pebbles, while RAIN is compatible with soil and coco.
