AC Infinity Ionprime 8 730W Full Spectrum LED Grow Light

A 5' × 5' flowering canopy is where many single fixtures fall short. While larger spaces may require the Ionprime 10 1000W, the AC Infinity Ionprime 8 covers the full 5' × 5' footprint with one 730W fixture and six independently angled bars. At 12" above the canopy it reaches 2,121 µmol/m²/s at center and averages 1,279 µmol/m²/s across a 25-point grid, with mid-canopy readings above 1,700.

The Ionprime 8 carries 3,468 diodes: 1,920 at 3000K and 1,488 at 5000K for full-cycle white light, plus 48 Everlight 660nm deep red, 6 Bridgelux 730nm far red and 6 Seoul 395nm UV. Each bar tilts up to 180°. Angle the outer bars toward the tent walls to lift edge intensity, or keep them vertical for maximum center density. Any bar can be swapped individually if one ever needs service.

Out of the box, the onboard Schedule Controller runs 0–100% PWM dimming, timed schedules, sunrise/sunset ramps and power-outage memory. Through UIS splitters and adapters, as many as 80 lights can run from a single controller—a feature also compatible with the commercial Ionframe A7—making it straightforward to replicate across a multi-tent or room setup.

Is the Ionprime 8 enough for a 5x5 grow tent? +

Yes. The Ionprime 8 is rated for a 5' × 5' flowering footprint and up to 6' × 6' during vegetative growth. In sealed rooms enriched to 1200+ PPM CO₂, AC Infinity recommends tightening coverage to 4' × 4' to deliver the higher intensity those plants can use.

Should I choose the Ionprime 8 or the Ionprime 6? +

Match the light to your flowering footprint. The Ionprime 6 (500W, four bars) is built for 4' × 4' spaces, while the Ionprime 8 (730W, six bars) extends coverage to 5' × 5' with nearly identical center intensity. If you plan to upgrade from a 4×4 to a 5×5 tent, the Ionprime 8 avoids buying a second light later.

What hanging height and intensity should I start with? +

AC Infinity's starter guide suggests roughly 1.5 ft above the canopy, with intensity at 40% for seedlings, 80% in veg, and 100% in flower. The PPFD map above shows how output changes between 12" and 18", so you can fine-tune height based on how your plants respond.

How should I angle the six light bars? +

Start with all bars pointing straight down, then tilt the two outer bars toward the tent walls if edge plants are lagging. Each bar pivots up to 180°, so you can also shift light toward taller or shorter sections of an uneven canopy without moving the whole fixture.

Does the Ionprime 8 need a separate controller to work? +

No. The included Schedule Controller covers dimming, on/off timing, sunrise/sunset ramps, and power-outage memory on its own. An AC Infinity UIS controller (sold separately) is only needed if you want Wi-Fi app control or to automate lighting alongside fans and other UIS devices.

Can I run multiple Ionprime 8 lights from one power source? +

Yes. The detachable drivers support daisy-chaining, and up to 80 lights can be linked to one controller through UIS splitters and adapters. Keep the combined load on the included 120V power cable at or below its 1,800W maximum rating.

Will the Ionprime 8 work on a 240V circuit? +

The Ionprime 8 driver accepts 100–277V AC at 50/60 Hz, but the power cable in the box is a 120V US plug. Contact our team to confirm the correct cord before connecting to a 208V, 240V, or 277V circuit.
