Both probes measure EC and water temperature via Mini DIN terminal, but they differ in installation capability and sensor board compatibility. The PCT-1 is a reservoir drop-in probe compatible with the AMP-2 board. The TrolMaster PCT-3 is a redesigned version with a reduced-diameter sleeve and threaded body that also fits directly into standard ¾" PVC tee fittings for inline plumbing installation, and is compatible with both AMP-2 and AMP-3 boards. If you need inline measurement or AMP-3 compatibility, the PCT-3 is the appropriate choice.
The PCT-1 is compatible with the AMP-2 sensor board, which is used with the Aqua-X NFS-1 controller. It connects via Mini DIN terminal directly to the AMP-2 with no additional adapters. For setups using AMP-3-based controllers, such as the Aqua-X NFS-2 or NFS-3, the TrolMaster PCT-3 is the compatible EC/Temp probe.
