TotalGrow High Intensity Top-Light 620W Bar LED Grow Light

The TotalGrow HI-Top 620 is a 46-inch LED top-lighting bar for commercial greenhouses and indoor farms that need serious photon output without the heat load and power draw of HPS. At 620 watts it delivers 1,734 µmol/s at 2.8 µmol/J. Its balanced full-spectrum diode mix works as supplemental lighting over greenhouse sun or as the sole light source in a closed grow room.

The fixture is passively cooled, with no fans or moving parts to fail. The IP65-rated bar is suitable for dry, damp and wet locations. The driver hangs on its own brackets, separate from the light, so the bar stays a slim 3" × 3" and casts minimal shade in greenhouse installs. With 0-10V dimming you can match intensity to each crop stage or tie the fixture into a central lighting controller. A 12V auxiliary output can power controller accessories.

For larger build-outs, optional linking cords share AC power between fixtures: up to 2 bars on 120V, 3 on 208V, or 4 on 230–277V. That means fewer drops and circuits to run. What's the difference between the 120V and 240V options? +

Both options use the same fixture and universal 100–277VAC driver. The main practical difference is power sharing. On 120V, linking cords can connect up to 2 bars per AC feed. On 240V you can link up to 4, and current draw per fixture drops from 5.4A to about 2.7A.

How does the HI-Top 620 compare to the TotalGrow 660W bar? +

The HI-Top 620 runs at 2.8 µmol/J and puts out 1,734 µmol/s from a 46" × 3" × 3" bar with IP65 protection. The newer TotalGrow 660W Top-Light Bar is shorter at 43" × 3" × 4", with an IP66 rating. It comes in a standard version (1,685 µmol/s at 2.5 µmol/J) and a high-efficiency version (1,865 µmol/s at 2.9 µmol/J). Both share the same linking limits, 0-10V dimming and a 5-year warranty.

Are power cords included? +

The DC cord that connects the light bar to the driver is included, along with mounting brackets for both. AC power cords, AC linking cords and M12 dimming/data cords are sold separately, so you can order the plug type and lengths your layout needs.

How high should I hang the HI-Top 620? +

It depends on your target intensity. For high-light sole-source growing (around 1,000 µmol/m²/s), TotalGrow suggests about 3 ft above the canopy with 4 ft spacing. Supplemental greenhouse lighting typically mounts 5–15 ft up. Keep at least 1 ft between the fixture and the canopy, and at least 2 inches between the fixture and the ceiling for heat dissipation.

Will it work with my lighting controller? +

The HI-Top 620 accepts standard 0-10V dimming through its M12 data port, with a 0.5V dim-off threshold. It also supplies 12V auxiliary power (300 mA). Check your controller's 0-10V compatibility and maximum daisy-chain count before wiring, and do not exceed it.

Can it be used in humid greenhouses? +

Yes. The light bar is IP65-rated and suitable for dry, damp and wet locations, and its fanless design has no moving parts to corrode. It should never be sprayed or washed, and nutrient solution must not build up on it, since that voids the warranty. Clean dust off with low-pressure compressed air only.

Do I need an electrician to install it? +

TotalGrow recommends installation by a qualified licensed electrician, wired to the National Electrical Code and local codes with proper grounding. Keep ambient temperature below 104°F (40°C) during operation. The fixture is a Photobiological Risk Group 1 product, so avoid staring directly at the lit LEDs.

Is there a 480V version? +
