The Pharmaceutical series is purpose-built for preserving delicate botanical and pharmaceutical compounds. Unlike the home Pro line — optimized for food — it uses precise vacuum pressure and controlled drying temperature to protect heat-sensitive materials. Enzymes, terpenes, and active compounds that would be degraded by conventional drying methods are preserved intact through the entire cycle.

The Medium processes 7–9 lbs of wet material per cycle across its seven stainless steel trays (6.5 sq ft total tray space), yielding approximately 1.75–2.25 lbs of finished dry product. Actual yield depends on the initial moisture content of your material — higher-moisture inputs will see a larger reduction in weight.

A complete freeze-dry cycle typically finishes within 20–24 hours depending on the material and its moisture content. Once started, the process runs automatically with no hands-on supervision required.

The included Premier pump is reliable and well-suited for regular use — oil changes take about two minutes every 20–25 batches. If you're running frequent back-to-back cycles or simply prefer zero maintenance, the oil-free upgrade eliminates all pump upkeep. For high-frequency commercial use, the time savings make the upgrade a worthwhile investment.

The Medium is the right fit for operations that have outgrown the Small's 3.75–5 lb capacity but don't yet need the Large's 12–14 lb output. If you're running multiple Small batches to get through your workload, the Medium's 7–9 lb capacity will cut that in half. It's particularly well-suited for craft producers, boutique extract operations, and small-scale commercial botanical processing.

With the Premier pump, change the oil every 20–25 batches using the included vacuum pump oil and filter — about two minutes per change. Wipe down the stainless steel chamber between batches and inspect the door seals periodically. Upgrading to the oil-free pump reduces maintenance to simply keeping the unit clean.
