Who This Is For
- You are integrating sterilization into your water line because you need to stop invisible microbes from reaching your plants.
- You are choosing this stainless model because you need a high-pressure solution that wont degrade like plastic housings.
What We Found
- The audible alarm is a relief because it tells you exactly when to swap the lamp before your water quality drops.
- The 1/2 inch quick-connect ports make it a fast install on existing irrigation lines without needing a plumber.
What Users Say
- Operators with well water sources say they stopped seeing biological buildup in their reservoirs after installing this unit.
- Growers who run large RO setups report more peace of mind knowing the system catches pathogens that filters miss.
GrowoniX XL Stainless Steel Ultraviolet Filter (Special Order Only)
Biological contamination in source water is an invisible threat that chemical pre-filters can't fully address — and for well water, stored water, or any supply where microbial activity is a concern, ultraviolet sterilization is the most reliable solution. The GrowoniX UV-XL is a heavy-duty alternative to the GrowoniX UV Sterilization - 2GPM unit, utilizing a stainless steel ultraviolet filtration chamber to destroy 99.9% of micro-organisms in your water supply at a 6 GPM flow rate. This makes it a practical fit for large grow operations, whole-house filter systems, and commercial water treatment setups where biological purity is non-negotiable.
The UV-XL is built around a 32W ballast and a UV lamp rated for 9,000 hours of service life, housed in a stainless steel body rated to 125 PSI. It connects via 1/2" quick-connect fittings on both input and output for straightforward integration into existing water lines, and includes an audible alarm to alert you when the lamp requires replacement — so you're never running unprotected without knowing it. It is fully compatible with the Growonix XL Scrubber, CX4000, CX7000, and CX10000 systems.
Product Overview
Features
99.9% Micro-Organism Destruction
UV-C light destroys 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and other micro-organisms in the water supply — a chemical-free sterilization method that leaves no byproducts or residuals in treated water.
Stainless Steel Construction
Full stainless steel housing rated to 125 PSI delivers the durability and corrosion resistance required for long-term use in commercial grow and whole-house filtration applications.
6 GPM Flow Rate
Treats up to 6 gallons per minute of water — sufficient throughput to keep pace with large RO systems like the GrowoniX GX1000 1000 GPD Reverse Osmosis System, commercial reservoirs, and high-demand production setups.
Audible Lamp Alarm
Built-in audible alarm alerts you when the UV lamp is due for replacement, ensuring you're never unknowingly running the system with a degraded or failed sterilization element.
9,000-Hour Lamp Life
The 32W UV lamp is rated for 9,000 hours of continuous operation — delivering extended service intervals and minimizing lamp replacement frequency in high-throughput environments.
1/2" Quick-Connect Fittings
Input and output both use 1/2" quick-connect fittings for tool-free integration into existing water lines — compatible with the Growonix XL Scrubber, CX4000, CX7000, and CX10000 systems.

FAQs
Carbon and sediment filters—including the GrowoniX Replacement Carbon Filter for XL Scrubber and matching GrowoniX Spun Sediment Filter—address chemical contaminants and particulates. UV filtration targets biological threats: bacteria, viruses, and other micro-organisms that pass through conventional filter media. The UV-XL uses UV-C light to destroy 99.9% of micro-organisms without introducing any chemicals or leaving residuals in the treated water.
Unlike municipal water, well water is not treated with disinfectants before reaching your tap — meaning bacteria, coliform, and other micro-organisms can be present in the supply. UV sterilization is one of the most effective methods for neutralizing biological contaminants in untreated water sources, making the UV-XL a critical component in any well water treatment setup for grow operations.
The built-in audible alarm triggers when the UV lamp is approaching or has reached the end of its rated 9,000-hour service life. A degraded UV lamp produces significantly less UV-C output and may no longer sterilize at the rated 99.9% effectiveness — the alarm ensures you replace the lamp on schedule and never unknowingly operate the system without adequate protection.
The UV-XL is compatible with the GrowoniX XL Scrubber and the CX4000, CX7000, and CX10000 commercial RO systems. Its 1/2" quick-connect fittings allow it to be integrated inline at the pre-filter stage or post-filter stage depending on your system configuration.
For most grow applications, the UV-XL is best positioned after the RO membrane — treating the permeate water from a high-output GrowoniX EX1000 Reverse Osmosis Filter before it enters storage tanks or distribution lines. This prevents re-contamination of already-purified water during storage, which is a common issue when water sits in reservoirs for extended periods.
