Who This Is For

  • You are prioritizing maximum purity for your nutrient solutions because your local water supply has high TDS levels that interfere with your results.
  • You are maintaining your GX or EX series system because you need to ensure your output is as clean as possible for your next run.

What We Found

  • We suggest this model for those who find that their standard membrane is not quite pulling enough impurities out of the source water.
  • The HR membrane does sacrifice a little bit of flow speed, but the jump in water quality is worth it if your base water is heavy.

What Users Say

  • Growers who swapped in this membrane say they stopped fighting nutrient lockout caused by high levels of calcium and magnesium in their source water.
  • Users dealing with hard well water report that their output TDS dropped significantly after switching to the HR version.

GrowoniX GXM-1000 HR 1000 GPD Replacement RM Membrane (Special Order Only)

When output purity matters more than raw flow rate, the GrowoniX GXM-1000 HR is the right membrane for the job. This High Rejection version of the GXM-1000 is engineered to deliver ultra-high TDS rejection — producing the cleanest possible permeate from your GX1000 or EX1000 series system. It's the preferred choice for growers working with higher-TDS source water or in applications where every point of reduction in output TDS has a direct impact on crop quality and nutrient precision.

The GXM-1000 HR is a direct drop-in replacement membrane for the EX1000, EX1000-T, and GX1000 series housings — no tools or modifications required. At 4" × 21", it seats into the existing GX Series membrane housing and restores system performance without any plumbing changes. Note that flow rate data published by GrowoniX is based on the High Flow (HF) element; the HR version trades a modest reduction in GPD output for its elevated rejection performance.

Features

⚗️
Ultra High TDS Rejection

The HR element is optimized for the highest possible rejection rate, producing the cleanest permeate water available from a GX Series system — ideal for sensitive applications and high-TDS source water.

💧
1000 GPD Rated Capacity

Rated at 1000 GPD to maintain high-volume water production, with the HR version delivering slightly reduced flow compared to the HF element in exchange for superior purity output.

🔁
Direct Drop-In Replacement

Sized at 4" × 21" to seat directly into EX1000, EX1000-T, and GX1000 housings with no modifications, tools, or plumbing changes required.

📐
4" × 21" Industry-Standard Size

Standard 4" × 21" form factor engineered to GrowoniX tolerances for a proper seal and consistent performance inside the GX Series membrane housing.

FAQs

What makes the HR version different from the High Flow (HF) membrane? +

The High Rejection (HR) membrane is engineered specifically for the lowest possible output TDS, making it the right choice when water purity is the top priority. Compared to the High Flow (HF) version, the HR element delivers a slightly lower GPD flow rate in exchange for its elevated rejection performance — ideal for high-TDS source water or applications requiring the cleanest possible permeate.

Which systems is the GXM-1000 HR compatible with? +

The GXM-1000 HR fits directly into the EX1000, EX1000-T, and GX1000 reverse osmosis systems. It is not interchangeable with smaller GX Series membrane housings — refer to GrowoniX's Filter Replacement Guide to confirm compatibility with your specific model before ordering.

What does "Special Order" mean, and how long does it take to ship? +

Special Order items are not stocked on-hand and are sourced directly from the manufacturer upon purchase. Lead times vary — contact us before ordering if you have a time-sensitive need and we'll provide an estimated availability window.

How do I know when it's time to replace my membrane? +

The most reliable indicators are a measurable drop in system flow rate or a rise in output TDS compared to your baseline readings after initial installation. To maintain optimal pressure and performance, ensure your system is utilizing a compatible GrowoniX BP-1000 HF Adjustable Booster Pump. Regular membrane flushing will extend service life, but consistent degradation in performance is a clear signal that replacement is due.

Does installing the HR membrane affect the system's 2:1 waste ratio? +

No — the 2:1 waste ratio is determined by the GX Series system design and plumbing configuration, not the membrane version installed. Switching from HF to HR affects output flow rate and permeate TDS only; the overall system efficiency and waste ratio remain the same.

Should I flush the membrane before putting it into service? +

Yes — flushing a new membrane at initial start-up is strongly recommended. New elements contain a preservation solution that must be purged before collecting permeate water for use. Use the GX Series manual flush valve to clear the membrane and bring the system up to full operating performance before normal production begins.
