Place your cuttings or starter plugs into the mesh cells, then dip the entire tray into a container of water or nutrient solution. Once saturated, set the mesh tray inside a standard 10" x 20" propagation tray — excess runoff drains through the holes and collects in the bottom tray, keeping your workspace clean.

This tray features solid side walls and drain holes in the base, combining enclosed edges for humidity retention with active drainage after dipping. The open sides variant has no side walls, allowing unrestricted access and easier root inspection along the tray edges but with less humidity retention.

It doesn't have to be, but pairing it with a Grow1 10" x 20" bottom tray is strongly recommended. The bottom tray catches excess water and nutrients that drain through the holes, preventing mess and allowing you to reuse runoff solution if needed.

This tray is well-suited for rock wool cubes, starter plugs, and other propagation media that can be fully submerged during the dip-watering process. Loose or fine media that could fall through the mesh openings is not recommended.
