FAQs
How often should I replace the pre-filter?
We recommend checking the pre-filter every 4-6 weeks and cleaning or replacing it as needed. A clean pre-filter extends the life of the carbon and ensures optimal airflow.
What size fan is compatible with this 4" filter?
This filter is designed for a 4-inch ducting connection and works best with 4-inch inline fans. Ensure your fan's CFM rating is at or slightly below the filter's 265 CFM rating for best results.
Can this filter be used for applications other than indoor gardening?
Yes! While perfect for grow rooms, this activated carbon filter is also highly effective for controlling odors in workshops, kitchens, bathrooms, or any space requiring air purification.
How do I know when it's time to replace the entire carbon filter?
The filter should be replaced approximately every 18 months, or sooner if you begin to notice odors returning. Performance can vary based on humidity and the concentration of odors. For a complete ventilation overhaul, check out our air filtration kits.
What is the benefit of virgin activated carbon?
Virgin activated carbon is the highest quality available. It has more micropores for trapping odor molecules compared to recycled carbon, resulting in superior absorption, higher efficiency, and a longer lifespan for your filter. You can learn more in our grow room setup guide.
