The primary advantage of a Recirculating Deep Water Culture (RDWC) system is the extremely high level of oxygen delivered to the plant roots. This super-oxygenated environment, combined with constant nutrient circulation, promotes explosive root growth, leading to faster vegetative cycles and significantly larger yields compared to other methods.

While the scale of a 36-pot system is geared towards commercial or very serious growers, the Alien Hydroponics design simplifies the process. The tool-free, glue-free assembly makes setup straightforward. However, managing a grow of this size requires a good understanding of nutrient management and plant care. For those new to hydroponics, a smaller system like the 12-pot RDWC kit might be a more manageable starting point.

The main difference is the volume available for root development. The larger 36L (9.5 gallon) pots can support larger plants with more extensive root systems, which can lead to greater yields, especially for long-cycle or very large plant varieties. The 20L (5 gallon) pots are still very effective and create a slightly more compact footprint.

The system is available with or without a high-powered air pump. If you choose the option 'Without Air Pump', you will need to supply your own pump capable of delivering at least 95.1 gallons per minute (360 liters per minute) to adequately oxygenate all 36 pots.

The patent-pending Dual-Flow™ fittings are oversized (2 inches) and feature unique slots instead of simple holes. This design allows massive root systems to grow around the fittings without blocking the flow of water and nutrients, ensuring the entire system circulates efficiently without clogs.
