Setup and Maintenance
System Setup Steps:
1. Prepare Pots
Attach the necessary fittings to the pots.
2. Connect the System
Use piping to connect the pots and the header pot to establish the recirculating network.
3. Install Air System
Set up the air pump and connect it to the air stones in the pots.
4. Integrate Pumps
Install the water pump(s) for recirculation and chilling (if applicable).

What are the main advantages of an RDWC system?
Recirculating Deep Water Culture (RDWC) systems provide a constant flow of highly oxygenated, nutrient-rich water directly to the plant roots. This leads to significantly faster growth rates, healthier root systems, and ultimately, larger yields compared to many other methods.
How is this RDWC system different from the Alien V-SYSTEM?
While both are excellent Alien Hydroponics systems, they differ in their oxygenation method. The RDWC uses JET-STREAM A.I.R.™ rings to pump air directly into the pots, while the V-System uses a venturi pump to create a vortex that draws oxygen into the water. The V-System also features larger 5" piping.
What size air pump do I need if I buy the kit without one?
You will need to supply an air pump capable of delivering a minimum of 31.7 gallons per minute (120 liters per minute) or 1902 gallons per hour (7200 liters per hour) to properly oxygenate all 12 pots.
Is this system difficult to set up?
No, the system is designed for easy, tool-free assembly. The threaded fittings and snap-on pipes mean there's no gluing required, making setup and any future reconfigurations quick and simple.
