Who This Is For
- You are moving to a top-feed system because your current irrigation lines keep clogging with invasive root growth.
- You are choosing a 4 pot layout because you need to maximize production in a compact tent without sacrificing drainage.
- You are automating your feeding because manual watering is causing salt buildup and inconsistent nutrient delivery.
What We Found
- The silver piping actually stays cool to the touch under high-intensity lights, keeping your solution stable.
- We found that the copper drain covers stop root intrusion effectively without needing messy chemical treatments.
- The snap-fit fittings are a relief because you can tear the whole system down for cleaning without cutting any pipe.
What Users Say
- Users who switched from RDWC say the RAIN system fixed their root rot issues by increasing oxygen at the root zone.
- Growers report that the uniform top-down delivery stopped the uneven growth they used to see between the four pots.
Alien Hydroponics RAIN System - 4 Pot 2 Row Kit
Struggling with inconsistent watering and nutrient delivery in your garden? The Alien Hydroponics RAIN System eliminates the guesswork by precisely mimicking natural rainfall. This advanced top-feed system ensures every plant receives a perfectly balanced and even distribution of water and nutrients, promoting explosive growth, healthy roots, and preventing common issues like salt buildup and root rot.
Designed for both beginner growers and experienced hobbyists, the RAIN system is incredibly versatile, compatible with various growing media. Its intelligent design washes away residual salts while the efficient drainage prevents waterlogging. This 4-pot kit is easy to assemble with a no-glue, snap-fit design, making setup and maintenance a breeze. While this model is perfect for a compact setup, the system is fully scalable. For different cultivation styles, consider the AERO system for aeroponics or an RDWC system for deep water culture.
Please note: This kit requires a nutrient reservoir, which is not included. We highly recommend pairing it with a compatible tank like the Alien GardenTank 30 Gallon reservoir to complete your setup.

FAQs
The RAIN system is highly versatile and can be used with various media, including soil, coco coir, clay pebbles, or rockwool. Its top-feed design ensures even moisture distribution regardless of your chosen substrate.
Alien Hydroponics recommends a starting frequency of one minute of watering every hour. However, this can be adjusted based on your plant's specific needs, growth stage, and the type of medium you are using. The included timer makes it easy to customize your feeding schedule.
No, a nutrient reservoir or tank is not included with the kit. You will need to provide your own. We recommend a tank with a minimum capacity of 30 gallons (120 liters) to ensure the system runs effectively.
Absolutely. The Alien RAIN system is designed to be modular and scalable. You can add more pots and rows as your garden grows. We also offer larger pre-configured kits, such as the 8-pot RAIN system, if you plan to expand significantly.
The key difference is the watering method. The RAIN system is a top-feed drip system that mimics rain, periodically watering the medium from above. In contrast, an RDWC system (Recirculating Deep Water Culture) constantly submerges the roots in a highly oxygenated nutrient solution. The RAIN system is more forgiving and versatile with media, while RDWC is a pure hydro method that can produce very rapid growth.
The RAIN system uses several features to promote root health. The timed watering cycles prevent over-saturation, the efficient drainage system removes excess water quickly, and the copper drain covers naturally inhibit roots from growing into the pipework. This combination ensures roots get the perfect balance of moisture, nutrients, and oxygen.
