Vivosun VGrow DWC Hydroponic Grow Kit - 4 Gallon

Growing in soil inside a smart grow box still means hand-watering, guessing at moisture, and working around slow root development. The Vivosun VGrow DWC Hydroponic Grow Kit converts your VGrow Smart Grow Box to deep water culture. Plant roots hang directly in a 4-gallon (15 L) oxygenated nutrient reservoir, which supplies water and nutrients continuously and holds enough solution for about a week between changes.

Two 2.4″ air stones, driven by a 20 kPa dual-outlet air pump, keep dissolved oxygen high around the roots to help prevent root rot. The included Rapid Rooters and seedling basket take plants from germinated seed to established roots before you fill the reservoir. The durable polypropylene bucket has a gridded maintenance window, so you can add water or test pH and EC without lifting the lid.

The Vivosun VGrow DWC kit plugs straight into the VGrow Smart Grow Box, which powers and controls it. Built-in sensors track water level and temperature, and the Vivosun App sends real-time alerts when the reservoir runs low. When it's time for a solution change, clip the 39″ drain pipe into a container and press the drain button.

Compatibility note: this kit works only with the VGrow Smart Grow Box. It is not compatible with the E42A+, A22, or A10, is not for use in grow tents, and does not include a FlexFeed DWC F4 controller.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which grow systems is the Vivosun VGrow DWC kit compatible with? +

This kit is designed only for the VGrow Smart Grow Box, which powers and controls it. It is not compatible with the E42A+, A22, or A10, is not for use in grow tents, and does not include a FlexFeed DWC F4 controller.

How do I set up the kit for the first time? +

Place the two air stones in their allocated positions and connect the air tubes, then clip the drain pipe to the back of the water inlet. Set the bucket securely into your VGrow and plug in the water level sensor. Vivosun recommends a test run with clean water to confirm the air pump and lines are working properly.

Do I fill the reservoir during the seedling stage? +

No. During sowing and the seedling stage, the Rapid Rooter in the seedling basket holds the moisture, so check it daily and replenish it with nutrient solution when dry. Once the plant has two sets of true leaves and roots have grown through the Rapid Rooter, switch to the planting basket and fill the reservoir with 4 gallons of solution.

What pH and EC should I use? +

Soak Rapid Rooters in solution at pH 5.5–6.5 and EC 0.5 mS/cm (250 ppm) for sowing. For the reservoir, the manual's DWC feed chart recommends keeping pH between 5.8 and 6.2 and raising EC gradually as plants mature.

How often should I change the nutrient solution? +

Vivosun recommends replacing the nutrient solution once a week. Between changes, refill to the maximum water line promptly whenever the low water alert is triggered, and never fill beyond that line.

How do I drain the reservoir? +

Remove the drain pipe from the back of the water inlet, secure it to a waterproof container, and press the drain button. To prevent overflow, the pump stops automatically every 2 minutes; press the button again to continue draining.

What does the smart monitoring track? +

Built-in sensors track the reservoir's water level and temperature. When connected to the VGrow Smart Grow Box, the Vivosun App sends real-time alerts, including a low water warning so you know when to top up.

How does the kit help prevent root rot? +

The dual air stones keep oxygen levels high around the roots, which helps prevent root rot. Weekly solution changes and regular cleaning also help prevent algae and bacteria from building up in the reservoir.
