The primary benefit is a tighter, more precise trim. The 3/16" slots allow less of the leaf stem to pass through, resulting in a closer cut that mimics hand-trimming. It's ideal for dense buds where presentation is key. The Twister T4 Standard Tumbler, with its 1/4" slots, is better suited for higher volumes and larger flowers.
